Church to Church Malaria Initiative
Church to Church Malaria Initiative (CCMI)
This program aims at encouraging local churches to participate in solving the health issues of their community. Since 2007, churches in USA have supported local churches by providing bed nets.
The local church members then get training from Wentz outreach staff and thereafter go house to house in their villages teaching about malaria and the benefit of the net in prevention. The beauty of this approach has been that many who are unable to hang up the net are helped by the team.
A total of 12,796 mosquito nets have been distributed through the program partnerships which include;
Cornerstone Community Church Simi valley California – Gaba community Church, Kampala and. Mulete Community Church -Mubende district.
Mariners Church, California- Soroti Community Church, Ggaba Community Church
Church of the Rock, Winnipeg - Rushere Community Church.
Church of the Rock, Winnipeg - Namasujju Community Church
Castle Hills Church, Texas- Luzira Community Church.
This program has led to local churches embrace their communities in new ways , revealing the love of God and meeting very important needs . The church members are always volunteers hence uniquely minimized bed net distribution overheads.
Through the program, many people have given their lives to Christ and the church numbers has increased.
